Privacy Policy
This notice explains what personal information VibeCut uses, why it is used, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights available to you.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
1. Service and privacy contact
This Privacy Policy applies to VibeCut, an AI-assisted video editing and processing service.
Service: VibeCut
Location: London, United Kingdom
Privacy, data protection and legal enquiries: vibecut.support@proton.me
The policy describes how personal information is collected, processed, protected and retained in connection with use of the service.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use VibeCut, we may process:
- Account information, if you create an account: email address, display name, account role/status, verification and account-administration records.
- User content: videos, images, audio, prompts, reference media and media links that you choose to submit for processing.
- Job and technical information: job identifiers, processing state, editor mode, limited worklog information and technical error information.
- Security information: IP address, browser/user-agent information, session/security records, upload-validation results, malware scan results and explicit-content classifier results.
- Abuse and support information: information you submit in a Report Abuse request, legal notice, privacy request or support communication.
3. Why we use information and our lawful bases
| Purpose | Typical information | UK GDPR lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Provide accounts and perform requested video processing | Account data, submitted media, prompts, job state | Performance of a contract / steps requested before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) |
| Protect the service, prevent misuse, investigate incidents and enforce rules | Security logs, IP/user-agent data, scan results, job metadata | Legitimate interests in operating a secure and abuse-resistant service (Article 6(1)(f)) |
| Respond to abuse reports, legal notices and rights requests | Report/contact information and relevant technical records | Legitimate interests and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations (Articles 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(c)) |
| Comply with applicable law, court orders or lawful authority requests | Only information reasonably necessary for the request or obligation | Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)); other bases may apply depending on the circumstances |
VibeCut does not ask you to upload sensitive or special-category personal data. If submitted media contains information about other people, you are responsible for having the rights and lawful basis needed to provide it for processing. Depending on the circumstances, VibeCut may process customer content on the user's instructions as part of providing the requested editing service.
4. Automated scanning
Uploads may be subject to automated file validation, malware detection, explicit-content detection and other safety checks. These systems may block, quarantine or delete material, but they are imperfect and do not determine whether content is legally permitted in every case.
5. Who receives information
We may use service providers that support hosting/infrastructure, email delivery, security, AI processing, monitoring or other technical operations. They may process personal data only to the extent reasonably necessary for those services and subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, courts, regulators, law-enforcement or other competent authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
6. International transfers
Some technical providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires transfer safeguards, we use an applicable adequacy mechanism or contractual/other safeguards permitted by law. You may contact vibecut.support@proton.me for more information about safeguards relevant to your data.
7. Retention
VibeCut is designed to minimise retention of raw media. Full details are in the Retention Policy. Source/reference media is deleted as soon as processing no longer needs it and otherwise normally no later than approximately 30 minutes after completion or failure; final outputs are normally kept for approximately 30 minutes after completion. Detailed worklogs are normally kept no longer than 24 hours. Ordinary security metadata is normally kept up to 30 days, while blocked/abusive security-incident metadata may be kept up to 90 days. Abuse cases are normally retained for up to 365 days after closure, subject to shorter spam retention or a specific legal hold. Core account/profile data is kept while the account exists and is normally deleted or anonymised within 30 days after closure; billing, tax and accounting records (if applicable) follow their separate legal retention requirements and do not extend video retention.
8. Cookies and sessions
VibeCut may use essential cookies or similar technical mechanisms to maintain sessions, support account authentication where available, apply security protections and enforce usage restrictions.
These mechanisms are not used for advertising purposes.
Where analytics, advertising technologies or other non-essential cookies are introduced, the Privacy Policy and any legally required consent mechanisms will be updated before their use.
9. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and rights relating to certain automated decisions. Some rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. To exercise a right, email vibecut.support@proton.me.
10. Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Information is available at ico.org.uk.
11. Children
VibeCut is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the service, providers or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
